SPORTING, CULTURAL AND EXTRACURRICULAR EXCELLENCE

Olympia Park’s approach extends beyond the workshop and classroom to the holistic development of learners.

The school participates in sporting codes for learners with disabilities, agricultural youth shows and cultural activities including Segarona, Festo, Debate and Spelling Bee competitions, while Grade 12 learners have participated in CAT Olympiads.

Among its sporting achievements, Olympia Park has produced five South African Schools Athletics athletes, four LSEN Valke Craven Week players, three Gauteng Schools soccer players, five Gauteng cross-country athletes and three Easterns LSEN cricket players.

The school has also recorded achievements including a Gauteng LSEN Chess Championship, while one of its learners, Boy Madigwane, signed with Chippa United FC.

Staff members have similarly contributed to provincial sport, curriculum moderation and professional development. The school was ranked the top-performing school in Gauteng for SACE CPTD in March and May 2026, while an educator has been identified for reskilling in Motor Mechanics through an accredited programme with the University of Johannesburg.
